COURSE INFO

WELCOME TO 7th GRADE SCIENCE!

Seventh grade science is an engaging year in which students explore the connections between the living and nonliving Earth. Students will explore scientific principles using what are referred to as Scientific & Engineering Practices (or SEPs). These SEPS include:

1. Asking a question or defining a problem

2. Developing and using models

3. Planning and carrying out investigations

4. Using mathematics and computational thinking

5. Analyzing and interpreting data

6. Constructing explanations and defining solutions

7. Engaging in argument from evidence

8. Obtaining, evaluating, and communicating information

Through the use of these practices, students will not only learn ABOUT science, but how to "DO" science. Get ready for a hands-on year!

Note: Above you can find PDF versions of both the syllabus and tentative schedule of units.
